We took the light rail (very 'green' choice) to downtown Denver on Saturday to do some shopping on the 16th St Mall, have some dinner and see the Parade of Lights. Total fun since the weather was awesome - we were able to eat outside in December in Denver! Besides the 30 min delay in the parade due to one of the balloons getting caught in the traffic light, it was a great parade. Made me think I was attending the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade!
On Sunday, she took me to two very cool mountain towns - Georgetown and Idaho Springs. Again - very, very beautiful - towns are just nestled within the mountains!
On our way back home from the mountain towns, we stopped at Buffalo Bill's grave and Lookout Mountain, where you can see the whole city of Denver in one view!
More views from Lookout Mountain:
We tried to get a pic of us with some background of the mountains, but this was the best shot we could get - just imagine the pretty mountains behind us!
After a long day in the mountains, we wound down with some Guitar Hero. Meg can play a mean guitar w/me on the vocals! Thanks for such a fun visit Meg!!!
