Things I Don't Want to Forget...

I get so busy posting pictures that I sometimes forget to write about the little things and milestones that these two do every day.  So...here's a brain dump of all I can think at this very moment:

Iva May...
  •  She officially began to crawl around the room at 9 months.  She would scoot and reach and maybe do a few small crawls, but nothing very far - and the item had to something she REALLY wanted for her to make the extra effort!
  • She is a busy 'talker.'  She's said Da for a long time (maybe 3-4 months now) and moved onto Ga, Ba, Na - and finally Ma a few weeks ago.  Why is it always Dada first???  (Myra was the same way!)
  • I need to get a picture of this soon because it's really funny.  At 9 months, Iva has her two bottom teeth and two upper teeth, but not the middle.  They are the two teeth that live on either side of the middle, so she looks like a little vampire!
  • She has become a very happy baby.  She was a bit challenging for a bit and still has her moments as she's not the best napper.  She is so squeezy and LOVES to be held and LOVES to give slobbers / kisses and will pat your back when you are holding her.  Little sweet love!  If she's having a rough day and needs a nap, a car ride works every time!
  • Has been a good sleeper as long as her teeth aren't bothering her...She goes to bed about 7:30/8 and sleeps until 7/7:30 every day!
  • Just started to really like puffs.  She has wanted to feed herself for a 1-2 months, but still choked on puffs and Mum Mums.  She now likes them - and really likes to put her hand in the container to serve herself!

Now onto Myra Marie....
  • Still LOVES to be naked - funny, funny girl.  I keep thinking this is a phase, but it's lasted for about 3 years!
  • So crafty it blows my mind.  She would color and craft all day.  I have been trying to take pics of all of the things she makes all by herself b/c I just can't keep them all, but that girl amazes me every day with her gluing, cutting, coloring, and taping skills!
  • Wrote her name all by herself last night. I know she's done it at school for a bit, but she wanted to show me that she can do it now all by herself!
  • I heard the sweetest compliment at school yesterday.  Another mom stopped me during pick-up and said that her daughter sometimes struggles with wanting to come school.  The little girl will go through all of the kids in her class and talk about how they may not always treat her well, but she said the Myra is ALWAYS nice to her!  Makes me smile!
  • She can be the best helper - especially with her little sister.  She has helped feed her, make her bottles and will always try to make Iva happy when she's crying.  If Iva's crying, she will ask me to put on Barbara Ann (Beach Boys) and Myra will sing it to her.  It really does work for a few minutes!
  • She is still my sou chef.  She will help with supper and say she wants to 'deserve' it to us - ha!  So...she will serve us dinner and make sure we all have napkins and appropriate silverware!
  • She recognizes most letters and tries to read as mush as possible, but that will come any time now.  She will look at her books with me every night and want me to point to the words, so she can recognize letters and sounds.  And...she knows her numbers and counts (with a few misses here and there) up to 40 or 50.
  • She's sleeping on her floor again right now.  She's always been my funny sleeper.  She's been sleeping in her sleeping bag since Easter and hasn't wanted to get back in bed.
  • Her eyes are as different as ever - and it's absolutely beautiful!  She calls them her Rainbow Eyes!
  • Teddy and Ba never leave her side.  She even takes Teddy to school these days...
  • She's my girly girl, but still enjoys TMNT, watching the old Batmans with daddy, playing pretty rough with the boys in class - and putting them in their place!  Yes...she's pretty bossy - but that's not such a bad thing sometimes!
