How I got Dinner Ready...

Even if daddy is home, Myra MUST be in the kitchen when I am cooking dinner. I am always trying to find things for her to play with - and these little pie tins worked just great!

Playing Cups

Just reminds of the 'cups' game that Chandler and Joey played on Friends! (Yes, that was a while ago :o)

She was very busy making these cups her drums this weekend!

I also love how she 'carries' her teethers in her mouth as her hands are always too busy to be holding them!

Scout

She is thoroughly enjoying her computerized Scout these days. I am sure many of you have seen them in stores. You hook them up to your computer and add all of your kid's favorite things - and then they make fun songs and sayings with that info.

Here's how we programmed Scout:
Favorite color: Purple
Favorite food: Avocado
Favorite animal: Cat (of course!)

Eyeing the Tiger

'Aunt' Kristin sent this fun tiger home with Jeff this past week...and Myra had some mixed emotions...

Maybe it's because the tiger is almost her size...
Maybe it's because it has fangs...

But...she first reached out to hug him...


Then, quickly shyed away from him!


Staring him down...


Even started running from him...


I LOVE this one...She's eyeing him from afar!


She's never been truly scared of anything thus far, so I think it's kind of funny and cute. Oh well...I am sure she will eventually like him! Thanks so much for thinking of us Kristin!

Finally...a Break from the Sunlight

For those of you that have been to our house, you know just how 'sunny' it is! We have 6 west-facing windows, where the sun just blazes in all afternoon.

We love the layout - which is one of the main reasons why we bought it, but after almost 10 years, we broke down and had to start controlling all of the sun. We finally put room-darkening blinds in the upper 3 windows - with matching blinds for the bottom 3 as well. And...I have also ordered light-blocking curtains for the kitchen sliding glass as well - and got new light-blocking curtains for the front east-facing window.

Whew...a little sprucing up after almost 10 years feels good!!

Myra took her very first un-assisted steps this past Saturday - and she got in a lot of practice on Sunday too!

Extremely Helpful

She enjoys helping put away her diaper and wipe shipment we get about every other month or so - and the cat loves it too!



She was totally fascinated with the baby face on the packaging!

And...she still loves helping me put away dishes!

Playing Cards...

Well....playing WITH a deck she found...

She is already taking after many family members - not just her daddy! Her mom's side of the family loves playing bridge - and, of course, dad is into poker.

Mowing the Living Room

Our little girl is off and mowing our house! She isn't truly walking yet, but loves to walk with her play mower toy.

Here she is circling the living and dining room- and hits the kitchen every once in a while too. Thank goodness for an open floor plan!

Benefits of Modern Technology

We get to Skype with Grammy on the weekends!

Myra was able to show Grammy her assisted walking skills with her fun lawn mower - and also show her how she plays with her learning house - all across hundreds of miles!

She loves cruising back and forth between these 3 living room windows. Soooo close to walking!
